Abstract:

In this paper, a parallel algorithm is developed based on the discontinuous Galerkin method for parabolic problems, where the domain decomposition method is used. The algorithm preserves the advantages of both the discontinuous Galerkin method and the domain decomposition method. Stability and convergence are discussed. Numerical examples are given to verify the stability and accuracy of the method.

Key words: Discontinuous Galerkin method,  Domain decomposition, Stability, Error estimate
