 Global Discontinuous Solutions to a Class of Generalized Riemann Problems for Quasilinear Hyperbolic Systems

Abstract:

For a class of generalized Riemann problems to quasili near hyperbolic systems, the author proves in this paper the global existence and uniqueness of discontinuous solutions containing (i) a contact discontinuity  and a center rarefaction, or (ii) a contact discontinuity and a shock.
