Design and Implementation of a Frequency Synthesizer with Wide Frequency-Coverage and Low Phase Noise Level

摘要:

介绍了一种宽带、 高分辨率和低相噪频率合成器的设计与实现方案. 该频率合成器包含3个部分:(1) STM32处理器部分,作为频率合成器的控制器并为其提供远程控制的CAN总线接口;(2) 时钟分配单元,用于产生固定频率的参考信号和输出频率的精确调整;(3) 三混频部分,以30 MHz的步进改变频率合成器的输出频率. 将该频率合成器应用在自主研发的500 MHz液体高分辨率NMR谱仪上,测试了1H NMR标样样品的灵敏度,实验结果证明了该方案的可行性.

Abstract:

The design and implementation of a frequency synthesizer with wide-band output frequency spanning, high resolution, and low phase noise level was proposed. The frequency synthesizer contains three sections: 1) a STM32 which serves as the synthesizer’s controller and provides a CAN bus interface for remote frequency control, 2) a clock distribution section which generates fixed frequency references and provides fine output frequency resolution, and 3) a triplemix section which operates in a drift canceling loop and alters the output frequency with a 30 MHz step. The frequency synthesizer design was used on a home-built 500 MHz NMR spectrometer. Its performance was demonstrated by sensitivity tests with 1H NMR spectroscopy.
