Abstract: In this paper, the authors give parameterization of 4-band orthogonal scaling filters with linear phase, and propose a simple method to construct the corresponding wavelet filters. Applying this parameterization form, the authors can derive symmetric orthogonal scaling functions with compact support. Furthermore, the corresponding wavelets can be obtained by the method.
