Abstract:

A nonequilibrium open system is studied in  the time-dependent projection operator formalism. Its environment is not a reservoir and may linearly deviate from its initial state under the influence of the system. By assuming the relevant statistical operator of the open system to be a generalized canonical one, the transport equation, the second Fluctuation-Dissipation theorem and the entropy production rate of the open system are derived and expressed in terms of correlation functions of fluctuations of inner random forces and interaction random
forces. If the environment is a reservoir,  then they can be cast into the Volterra equation formalism.
