Abstract: A long Josephson junction can be modeled by a perturbed sine-Gordon equation. Based on a soliton perturbation theory, the probability distribution of the velocity of a single soliton, at the presence of a white noise contained in bias current, is studied by the Fokker-Planck method. This approach can be extended to the study of multisolitons.
