Abstract: Higher order local behavior, including direction and curve shape, of the buckling branches in the boundary value problems is discussed. A series of typical examples are analysed using the formula given in this paper. Computer experiments are also conducted on these examples, which coincide with the analytical results very well, and hence justify the theoretical formula.
