糖尿病大鼠视神经病变方向性扩散加权MRI表现

Early Pathological Changes in the Optic Nerves of STZ-Treated Diabetic Rats Revealed by Directional Diffusion-Weighted MRI

摘要:

利用扩散加权磁共振成像技术研究了链脲佐菌素(STZ)诱导大鼠糖尿病4周时视神经的病理改变. 测量平行和垂直于视神经方向上的水质子的表观扩散系数,分别用ADCADC来表示. 初步结果显示模型组左右侧视神经ADC没有出现一致的改变,而ADC都有下降的趋势,但没有达到统计显著性. 该结果提示STZ诱导4周后扩散成像测量参数ADC的改变可能反映了糖尿病引起的视神经轴突损伤.

Abstract:

Type-I diabetes was induced in rats by a single injection of streptozotocin (STZ). Directional diffusion-weighted imaging on the optic nerves were performed one month later to monitor the early optic neuropathy (e.g., axonal injury and myelin sheaths damage) induced by diabetes. Water diffusivities parallel and perpendicular to the axonal tracts were measured by apparent diffusion coefficients ADC and ADC, respectively. Compared to the control animals, the STZ-treated animals showed a trend of reduced ADC in bilateral optic nerves, but less consistent changes in ADC.
